I never had a bad meal no matter what location I visit. The service is quick and friendly. I know there are a lot of other BBQ joints that you may think are better but you always know what you will get from Sonny's BBQ. Fantastic food.

Served me fat greasy beef brisket 90% fat 10% meat in their plates for 15 dollars I won't do that agsin

Gr8 family oriented bbq joint!!! Think our server's name was Debbie n she was on point, knew the menu inside out and recommended based on what she's had n not just cost to inflate the tab. Had the smoked wings as an appetizer, fell off the bone, didn't need any bbq sauce at all, the cornbread muffins were fresh and had to top w/ cinnamon butter!!! There's a salad bar, all u can eat w/c had a wide variety to choose from. Appetizers - fried pickles. My hubby had the smoked turkey n I had the chicken 1/2 as our entree. Pics below

Decent takeout option if you're staying at one of the nearby airport hotels. I thought the sandwich combos were a fair price for the quantity and quality of food you receive. Not the best BBQ by any means but does the job. Pulled pork was good consistency - not too dry or too wet, but a bit sweet for my taste. I tried the Smokin' sauce and the Sweet Sizzlin' and both were good, perhaps the Smokin' a little better! I would definitely return, but maybe try the brisket instead.

The food came out a little cold. But once I TOOK IT HOME and reheated it the next day for lunch it was great

Went to Sonnys on Tyvola Rd. I ordered banana pudding it had no cookies or bananas in it and tasted funny had to throw it away. Call the manager at 4:40pm on Wednesday July 29th he didn't care he did not apologize he said its some banana cut up in the pudding. I spent $28 where I was not appreciated enough for an apology. I told him I would not be back, he said ok. The banana pudding was $4.89 plus tax not a lot of money but its a lot to run your gas out and pay for something you can't eat. I I tipped $5.

Ordered through Uber Eats, but actually quite impressed. The brisket was pretty moist and not dry, sliced pork was *muah*, and giant chocolate chip cookies were very rich. I recommend the sliced pork and chocolate chip cookies. One word of advice: get a variety of the sauces. I did NOT care for the smokey one, so I'm glad I also got the sizzling sweet.

A Door dash order. Arrived on time and was happy. However the the appetizer or side item of fried pickles was not in a box but rather wrapped in paper (pic provided) making the item cold on delivery. Also they forgot my drink on A MONDAY AT 2:30PM.My pulled pork sandwich was good. It was warm because a genius put it in a box. Ty

First time eating at Sonny’s. Was a wonderful experience. had the ribs excellent. Potato salad excellent. Had a wonderful waitress name Renee thank you very much. Wish they had a Sonny’s in New York

Their barbecue is really good. I love the different sauces. The brisket was super tender. I love the pulled pork. If you feeding a family I would strongly suggest the family fest. It has something for everyone. I will be returning.

Their sweat and Smokey ribs are always amazing! All their sides are great too! I particularly love their cornbread, beans, okra, and coleslaw! I love Sonny’s BBQ but I am so incredibly sad that they have discontinued my absolute favorite BBQ sauce!!! They did sill have a couple to-go packets when I was there so I still got to use it this time but I am so sad that’s it’s gone!!! I really hope they decide to bring it back!!! Their Mild BBQ sauce was amazing!

Sonnys does a nice job with their fall off the bone baby backs. There is a nice selection on the salad bar and it's clean & well-stocked. Tasty southern sides: mac n cheese, baked beans, slaw, corn bread muffins, etc. Never got to dessert! Sorry!

Had a pick up order. Although the young lady was doing the bar, pick up, drive thru and call in orders by herself, she was prompt, efficient, and pleasant. She made sure we had silverware, napkins, straws and all the sauces per the order!

1st time back in 3 years places not the same food has went down

I went there for a Takeout order. It didnt take long for my order to come up. Also I noticed this location did have a drive thru. I ended up getting the Smokin Gun(jalapeno cheddar hot links, brisket, banana peppers, red onion, and mustard sauce) on garlic bread and an order of tator tots. One of the cashiers was really helpful. She put 3 of the BBQ sauce options in my bag for me to try since I told her it was my first time there and I couldn't make a decision on which to get. I enjoyed my sandwich. It can be quite messy because all of the ingredients are chopped down to smaller sizes so they fall off of the sandwich easily. The sweet and sizzlin sweet sauce were my favorite. The smoking sauce I didn't like as much but maybe it will be a better fit on a different meal.

Food was amazing, price was incredible, service was second to none. One of the best restaurants I have been too in awhile. Recommend trying for sure.

Sonny's BBQ is always a delicious stop for you and your family. Everything on the menu is an absolute delight. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because on their main menu it says there is a drink menu and then there is none! Very small but please add a drink menu! Thank you for the meal!

Great food and customer service...My 8yr old grandson says the food so good he moving from SC to NC.

Are server Sharen was the best she was very efficient with our large group. Thank you some of the food was good and some was not smoked long enough for our taste. Derrick was very accommodating we appreciate the service.

Due to COVID this location was take out only. All the food was COLD! Staff refused to make it right and stepped away so we could not speak to them.Recommend not doing take out with this location until they open for service again.

The service was very good. The food came out super quickly. The waitress knew the menu off the top of her head and provided the best recommendations for it being our first time there. I would definitely go back again. Great food.

Love Sonny's, went there everyday I was in town! Best BBQ around! Try their brisket or maybe their pulled pork on a bun with coleslaw, mmm mmm good!!! Can't wait to come back to Charlotte just for Sonny's!!!

From the moments you walk in, you can sense there is something different to this restaurant. Awesome southern BBQ smell literally permeates the entire place and sets the stage for a great dining experience. We got the redneck egg rolls for an appetizer and.my wife, caterer & baker herself, about drooled from the taste.My wife had the ribs & wings with an extra side of potato salad and I had the pork 3 pick but I'm quite sure all the choices are just as awesome. The baked beans and Cole slaw sides were awesome. And the ability to mix the four different BBQ sauces capped off an awesome all around experience;. Highly recommend this for your BBQ destination for lunch or dinner!

The Sweet Carolina Sandwich is amazing. An the BANANA PUDDING is out of this world good. Great service to follow and I will definitely be coming again for lunch or dinner.

Is it possible to beat all-you-can-eat ribs for $10.99 on Tuesdays? NOPE! Well done Sonny's!!! The smoked turkey was outstanding!! And our waitress, Jataja provided excellent customer service!! We will be back very soon!

This was the first bbq place in Charlotte we found and I won't be looking for anybody else! They make the juiciest, tenderest chicken with perfect tasting char.. brisket, garlic bread, corn bread ..to die for. And best of all, inside that smokin hot shack, the people are super cool:)

Great atmosphere and the people was very generous there. You have to get the pulled chicken salad. And you have to taste the smoke chicken and brisket. It was totally awesome. I would highly recommend that you try these dishes. Kudos to Sonny's!

We just came back from a long drive and my husband wanted some barbecue, I suggested Sonnys. We had a pick up order , service was nice and quick. We ordered a couple different things. Mac n Cheese was very good, chicken had great flavor the skin was a little tough but we just took it off, Ribs had a great flavor and if u wanted sauce they gave these little barbecue sauce packets that were great as well, pulled pork was delicious, hubby and I liked that a lot. I guess my only complaint would have to be the soggy bread and my daughter's soggy fries due to the fact that they were underneath the garlic bread, maybe pack the bread separately idk other then that the food was great! Thank you

Was hesitant to pay $15.15 for a pound of pulled pork, seems a bit high. Got back to the hotel and weighed my meal. With container and all it was well under half a pound. Unbelievable.

Would highly recommend to anyone passing through Charlotte! The pulled pork was mouth watering! The brisquit and macaroni rolls were a must try! Pictured is the sampler platter and the pork trio. Buffalo mac and cheese bites with buffalo ranch and sweet BBQ sauce. Also gotta give a shout to sharon our waitress who was probably my favorite part

We (2 of us) went for lunch during a conference at a nearby hotel. When we arrived there were only people at about 6 tables. The waitress quickly took our drink and food order. I ordered the all-you-can-eat pork... then the wait began. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. We quickly jammed the first round and tried to order round 2,but couldn't seem to get the attention of the waitress. Finally I flagged her down and ordered round 2. This took another 15 minutes despite being on a small portion of meat only. We definitely got the impression that unless we spent 2 hours or more at the restaurant, we probably wouldn't get a third helping. Fairly unsatisfying.

The food is great and worth every penny 😃😃
